2. Pickens Plan- T. Boone Pickens is an Oil and Gas, Wind Entrepreneur from Oklahoma. He plans to build enough wind farms to supply the           United States with 20% of its power.  Find out more here.
  

 

3.  Transmissions Lines- The wind industry has built too fast, and they produce too much power for the available lines to carry. Several huge projects are set to go in Texas, and California.
 
Where to work in wind power?
 
Take a quick look at the map below and notice the central United States is shaded a different color.
That is considered the U.S. Wind Corridor.
It has high winds at 80 meters above the ground, very favorable for wind farms.

The majority of the jobs will be in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Montana, South Dakota, North Dakota, New Mexico, Nebraska, Wyoming, and Colorado.
An exception to the rule is California, who even though is on the West Coast far from the Wind Corridor, does have a substantial amount of Wind Turbines.
